This silkscreen sold out in just a few hours upon its release from Stephen Friedman Gallery in 2021. Here Shrigley fills the picture with an old fashioned steam train, chugging towards the viewer. Alongside this rather playful, childlike and innocent image, he writes the provocative lines, “Fast train to shitsville”. The juxtaposition of innocence and irony is key to Shrigley’s humour and his practice.
