Talk to the Hand, 2021

This is a lino cut from a very rare and small edition. Shrigley has used the monochrome palette to emphasise the shape of the hand, drawing our attention to the additional digit making it seem like an inordinately large stop sign. By combining the text and image Shrigley calls to mind the noughties slang, “Talk to the hand, the face ain’t listening” effectively a very funny way of saying “stop talking”!
